An immediate search is in progress following an incident where a teenager was stabbed in broad daylight on the seaside promenade, causing shock among onlookers.
Authorities from Sussex Police were notified of the incident on Marine Parade in Worthing around 1:17pm today after witnesses reported three teenagers, one of whom was armed with a knife, pursuing another teenager. The victim, an 18-year-old male, received first aid from bystanders before being transported to a hospital for a hand injury.
The three suspects, described as Caucasian males wearing black hoodies, fled in a westward direction along Marine Parade. Law enforcement officers quickly arrived at the scene, and the public was informed to anticipate an increased police presence in the vicinity throughout the evening.
Investigations are ongoing, with Neil Walker from Worthing CID stating, “We are at the initial stages of our inquiry and appeal to anyone with relevant information to come forward.
