Spanish police seek aid in search for missing British man

Spanish police are seeking help in finding a British man who has been missing since approximately September 20. Marc Tulloch Hewson, 63, hailing from Wantage, Oxfordshire, was last sighted in Torrevieja, located south of Alicante. His spouse Catherine and acquaintances in Costa Blanca, where Marc resided, have turned to social networks to encourage individuals with relevant details to step forward.

The Civil Guard has issued a public appeal regarding the ongoing investigation into Marc’s mysterious disappearance. They stated, “Our inquiry into the vanishing of Marc Tulloch Hewson, 63, remains active. He disappeared on September 19 close to Torrevieja University Hospital. On the day he went missing, he was clad in long black track pants with ‘The Beatles’ inscribed in white, a brown baseball cap, and black footwear.”

A police spokesperson disclosed, “Evidence suggests that the missing man was in the vicinities of Jardin del Mar I and Laguna Salada residential areas in Torrevieja on the morning of September 20. At that time, he was dressed in black shorts and was bare-chested and shoeless. Searches have been ongoing in those zones, along with Orihuela Costa, and local residents have been interviewed.”

A description of Marc, including his height of 1.75 meters, weight around 70 kilograms, straight blond hair, and blue eyes, has been circulated through an Interior Ministry website. In a plea on a Facebook expat group, Fiona Crowther stated, “Let’s unite to locate Marc. Your assistance is invaluable to us. Catherine, myself, and all of Marc’s friends extend our gratitude for your efforts in searching, liking, sharing, commenting, suggesting, and tagging. Please continue your support.”

Beth Hewerdine also appealed online for information, emphasizing, “Please aid in locating Marc Tulloch Hewson, missing since September 20 in Costa Blanca, Spain. He is vulnerable and without medication—any information or sightings could be crucial.” Reports describe Marc as “approachable and friendly,” mentioning his departure on September 18 without returning, and being picked up by an ambulance later that evening.

Allegedly, he was discharged from Torrevieja Hospital around 2 am the next morning but vanished before the ambulance arrived to take him home. These events follow the recent rescue of jet ski rider Layonel Ramirez Collado, 27, who was found alive after disappearing off the Canary Islands and rescued by a passing plane, albeit dehydrated and sunburned but conscious.
