Superdrug has announced its intention to launch 30 new outlets this year, generating approximately 600 job opportunities. Among the new store locations in England are White Rose Leeds, Crawley, Waterlooville Retail Park, Newport Retail Park, and Isle of Wight.
In addition to expanding in England, Superdrug will establish new stores in Scotland, including Dundee Gallagher Retail Park, Kilmarnock Retail Park, East Kilbride, Strathkelvin Retail Park, Linwood Phoenix Retail Park, and Cwmbran Retail Park in Wales.
The upcoming stores will feature Superdrug Beauty Studios offering services like ear piercing, manicures, and eyebrow threading. Superdrug also aims to revamp 60 stores throughout the year. Currently, the health and beauty retailer operates over 780 stores in the UK and Ireland.
The decision to open more stores is driven by high customer demand. Superdrug plans to focus on creating larger destination stores and expanding into retail park locations. Superdrug’s property director, Clare Jennings, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing expert advice, trustworthy products, and quality services in welcoming community spaces.

In other retail news, M&S disclosed plans to identify 500 new store locations to grow its food business. The company is seeking larger sites to accommodate a broader range of M&S Food products, intending to increase the average size of its Food stores to 18,000 square feet. M&S will open or renovate 20 stores by the end of the fiscal year, resulting in the creation of 800 jobs. The goal is to attract more customers by offering an extensive product range for their weekly shopping needs.
